We're finally getting down to where the rubber meets the road for those of us who take our Holiday procrastination seriously. We have one weekend to go before Christmas, and I have exactly 2 things for the wife, and they are wrapped together....both of which I ordered online...

;D

SO! With that thought in mind, it's time to start that annual countdown to try and figure out what I'm going to get her for Christmas this year before it's too damned late to do anything about it. I'm looking for suggestions, links, pictures, and ideas for unusual gifts for discerning individuals, or anything else you can think of between now and Midnight on Christmas Eve...we need a fun thread for the next few days, so have a good belt of that spiked neg yog and see what you can come up with....

This is too funny. The kids are all shopped for and I've shipped presents to nieces and nephews across the country, my kids are done, and hubby is last. Poor guy. How do you buy something for someone who gets himself what he needs throughout the year - a shopvac, drill, yard sprayer...all things he gets himself before his birthday or Christmas. Chief - why do men do that?

I, on the otherhand, am nice enough to give him a list of a few "would love to haves" about a month before Christmas to make his holiday a little easier. Ha-rumph. It will most likely be something golf related for hubby as the big present. He reads voracioulsy and books are always a good thing but not for a main gift.

For the Mrs. -- Might be hokey but Flowers are always nice or a plant in a Christmas planter to be used next year. A manicure or pedicure also work for most women. For something different: if you like wine, how about a "make your own wine" excursion at Bader Winery www.baderwinery.com -- they do most of the work and you end up with 30 bottles for yourself and your friends. If you don't like wine, forget I mentioned it :-[

Ah, the joys of procrastination. Before kids, my favorite day to shop was December 24th! Good Luck!

Hey karma!! Do you have one of these??

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v645/SeniorChieftain/poopinggnome.jpg

Is that gnome doing what I think he's doing? Let the Pooping Gnome attempt to relieve himself on your lawn. He just needs a little time, maybe 2-3 seasons. How about this spring and summer?

The Pooping Gnome is a perfect lawn gag to show your funny side to the casual passer-byer.

The Pooping Gnome measures 7 x 7 inches and is only $13.95!!

How about his brudder??

The Mooning Gnome is not shy. He shows his displeasure to those who look at him by giving them his best rear end salute. The Mooning Gnome is staring at you. Why won't you let him hang out on your lawn? He's tired of being in our warehouse.

The Mooning Gnome measures 7 x 7" and is only $13.95!!

Attention all you real witches out there stuck in real world boring office jobs! Awaken your desktop and cast a spell on that boss of yours with plants and flowers of the undead and the unholy. The new Graveyard Gothic Garden ($20) terrarium grows strange and weird plants like the Moonflower (a favorite of witches), Sensitive Plant with leaves that move when touched, Dragon Tree with sharp-edged leaves and a blood red tinge, Black Dragon Coleus with black and red leaves, and Aloe with amazing healing powers. The little tombstone plant info stakes made me laugh out loud.
► Amazon.com ($20)

This sounds like a mexican or hawaiian Christmas ballad? Tiny Tim inflection? Not too bad Klaus Nomi..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v645/SeniorChieftain/crystal-bar-trunk_48.jpg

Luxury retailer Neiman Marcus has already launched the 81st edition of the most outrageous gifts catalogue, the Christmas Book to commemorate the firm’s 100th anniversary. One of the products features in the new catalogue is Crystal Bar Trunk, which is being touted for the days of traveling splendor. Not sure about that but, the rosewood bar trunk has been adorned with brass accents and a leather trim. The inside of the trunk is filled with a range of world’s finest barware in Irish crystal, along with a crystal clock and serving dish. Other than that, it features a four-piece sterling silver-plated bar tool set and eight Versace canapé serving plates. It’s part of the Waterford Crystal collection. The price tag reads a whopping $16,000 but, we know very well that exclusive things do cost a fortune.
