The sprawling Department of Transportation could save $18 million to $24 million over five years by improving its administration, including payroll, says a report from the state auditor.

The performance audit of the 8,000-worker agency's administration was released last week. It generated less interest from the public than an earlier bang-for-the-buck audit of the state's approach to road planning, but it did make detailed recommendations."

They missed the most obvious money saver at WSDOT....forcibly extract Light Rail from WSDOT and we could save Billions...

That won;t happen Chief.. You don't want to kere the Koombaya coming from South Lake Union in the Seattle Times over the past week? Light Rail is just the next extension that is coming up from Portland.
