County commissioners likely will huddle with their attorneys in closed-door session to discuss their next step. Options include doing nothing, appealing Tabor’s decision to the Washington Court of Appeals or negotiating a new memorandum of understanding, or MOU, with the tribe.

The invalid MOU includes provisions requiring the tribe to comply with county building and health codes, to build roads and intersections to keep traffic flowing, to pay for law enforcement and prosecution of misdemeanor crimes and to compensate the county and other local governments for lost property taxes.


I wonder where Meilke comes down on the casino. He's big on jobs in the County, and the Cowlitz Casino will provide a bunch of them...

There is Karma!! Now they know just how we folks in Felida feel when they tossed out the West Felida Plan that we all agreed upon and they screwed us out of due to not properly filing the papers? Isn't Stuart an attorney and should they have known to cross all the 't' and dotted the 'i' or is the County's attorneies to blame?? More wasted staff and taxpayers' money??? It sure points out there is a serious problem down there at the County??? Beside they allow Development to skirt by why not a casino??

Buff, I was the President of the Felida Neighborhood Assn. when the final West Felida Plan took place and at the first meeting only 4 people showed up for the meeting. I was told this would be a piece of cake and the county had already looked at this area before, spent a lot of $$$ in doing that too!! The next meeting there was over 60 and the final meeting well there was so many folks it was standing room only and we were way over the limit for the room. The County was overheard they should of brought their flack jackets it was so hot!! We had an agreement with the County and it was signed by all three Clark County Commissioners but never filed. The Iron Maiden step in and stated with new Commissioners in place it's a new ball game and she was the one that diverted fund from this area to pay for personal agenda roadway, yep close to her area where she lives. She even got her roadways repaved around the time she took office, mind you my subdivision has only been repaved once in the 30+ years it has been in existance?? You want more on this please feel free to contact you as I can even tell you how the Current FNA took over to do the warm and fuzzy park and how they used the Sheriff's Dept. I can name names too and whom started all this park crap and how this group met behind the backs of the old FNA with parks. Buff, you want the whole story . . . . . . . I'm in the process of writing a huge book of dirt!!!
