The Pacific NW, Idaho, BC and Alberta/Sashetawan are the big areas of potato farmers. There is a problem a microscopic worm thats getting into the seed potatoes and creating a havoc with it..

Agriculture is tracing seed-potato shipments to Washington, Oregon, Idaho and five other states from Canada that it fears might have been carrying a microscopic, wormlike pest that attacks potato plants.
This is war!! I've been saying for years that we need to tell the Canuckistanis to pick a Governor, and we'll add a star; now we have ample reason to send the Marines over the border, dig Quebec up and Fedex it back to France, and start eliminating the biggest security risk that this Country has faced...

If you truly must know Chief, the Canadian provinces are some of the biggest trading partners to Washington state. A lot of agriculture products produced in Washington and Oregon don't go outside the US. Most of it goes to Canada in some form or another.
Except for a few key things that Port of Vancouver moves quite well to other foreign markets.
